The identity design for Travel Copy was based on delivering a clean and simple yet elegant logo for a company specialising in travel journalism.
The logo was intended to communicate the idea that the writing of Travel Copy can transport you to the destination, something indicated by the use of the conch shell – the notion that you can hear the sea through one – and the devising of the strapline “words that take you there”.
The conch shell is kept in 2D, but filled with a rich gradient of shell and beach colours, whilst the typography – which retains a hint of the journalist’s typewriter but is also thoroughly modern – is coloured as a welcoming warm sea.
The identity project also involved devising basic ongoing design principles, tone of voice for brand messaging and establishing the principles for choice and styling of brand photography.
Vroom Media is also engaged in a project to develop Travel Copy’s online presence.
